These three powerful words epitomize my love for photography. A photograph, in essence, is memory in the raw. It is a way to record the gamuts of feelings juxtaposed upon the human face. A way to record the beauties and imperfections of the Earth. An important means to capturing things that are constantly vanishing. My camera is simply a tool in which I can tell a story. I’m capable and confident to explore all genres of photography, but the most intimate of them all is photojournalism. To take make a photograph based out of a sliver of reality.
This is why I’ve made the choice to focus most of my efforts on weddings. The raw, emotion-packed, fast paced nature of it all is something that makes my heart go thump thump thump. I’m always looking for emotions, expressions and the little tiny eccentricities. These are what make photo sessions unique. I’m always pushing my artistic limits, getting down’n'dirty in the grit, trying techniques that are considered impossible- and regardless, I’m always excited. I’d like to think my passion and excitement are contagious, making it just as much about the entire experience as it is about the final product.
The elements of storytelling, creative innovation and raw visual impact is what drives me to pursue this dream. And sharing my journey and experiences within my professional and personal work with others is the best part of it all. In our day and age of technology and Web 2.0, social media has allowed the entire world to interact and connect like never before. It’s improving and getting bigger by the day, so it’s about time that I’ve come to the realization that my passion for photography and literal storytelling could be integrated together. Which is great, since I’m not a particularly verbose person, I think that’s why I like taking making pictures photos. They speak for themselves.
